Prevention programs

The Department of Human Services (DHS), along with its state and local partner agencies, is active in a wide range of prevention programs designed to promote healthy behaviors and help people avoid the need for public assistance.

These include initiatives to help prevent teenage pregnancies, alcohol and drug abuse and sexually transmitted diseases. For more information on prevention programs, visit the links below.


 

Adolescent Health

HIV prevention

System of Care (SOC)

System of Care is a strength/needs-based (SNB) approach to child welfare practice that seeks safety, permanency and wellbeing for every child involved with the state's child welfare programs.

Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP)

Although most Oregon teens are making the right choices, there's still a lot of work to be done! We encourage you to learn what's happening in your area and "bee" involved in teen pregnancy prevention.

Title IV-E Waiver Demonstration Project

The Title IV-E Waiver Project is a federally approved demonstration project that provides states the authority to design and test a wide range of new approaches to the delivery of child welfare services in order to improve outcomes for children.
