Welcome To The Missouri Faith-Based Homeland Security Initiative

Disasters can strike at anytime, anywhere, and without warning. Therefore, it is imperative that communities, both secular and non-secular, work together with the common goal of preparing and assisting in both man-made and natural disasters. That is why the State of Missouri through the Office of Homeland Security is sponsoring the Missouri Faith-Based Homeland Security Initiative. This initiative will assist faith-based organizations with attaining the tools needed to make a difference in times of misfortune.

We will support your organization by providing you with information, training, and other resources to prepare you to act. In addition, we encourage your congregation to have emergency disaster plans in place in the event that an emergency incident happens.

Planning and training can better facilitate communication between organization members. Communications is a vital part of all emergency response and recovery, without it your organization will be severely hampered in its efforts. It’s never too early to prepare for disasters, so take the step today by joining the Missouri Faith-Based Homeland Security Initiative.
