CLIMATE MODEL PRODUCTS FOR ASSESSMENT STUDIESGo to Dataset:

We maintain an archive of climate model output products for use in assessment and impact studies. This archive currently includes products from recent climate model runs at various centers. These centers are the Canadian Centre for Climate Modelling and Analysis (CCCMA), the United Kingdom's Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research, and Germany's Das Deutsche Klimarechenzentrum (DKRZ).

Model outputs have been obtained directly from the modellers or from the IPCC Data Distribution Center (IPCC). The outputs have been archived in three datasets here at NCAR. More information about the climate models and the scenarios that were run are available from these dataset web pages:

For each dataset, we have obtained at minimum the monthly mean grids of eight parameters (2m temperature, maximum and minimum temperature, a moisture parameter, preciptation, sea-level pressure, 10m wind speed, and surface downward shortwave radiation) for each of the individual model scenarios. We have used these monthly mean grids to compute decadal means, which can be used for making assessments about the impact of climate change. These decadal means are freely available to be downloaded from the individual dataset web pages.

In addition to the monthly means for the eight primary parameters, we may have monthly grids of other parameters and/or daily grids of various parameters. Any of these products may be obtained for a service charge, which is explained in the "Services" section of our website. Check the individual datasets for availability of data.
