Description:

The following is a brief summary of the current accomplishments and activities of DFRL.

  • Pioneered legislative effort to support and provide incentives for businesses in Arkansas to become Drug Free Workplaces (Arkansas Act 1552).
  • Received $100,000 Drug Free Communities federal drug prevention grant from the Office of National Drug Control Policy and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
  • Participating in nationwide research project with the University of Southern California, funded by the National Institute for Drug Abuse.
  • Partnership with the City of Rogers Police Department to provide summer camp for adolescents in the Rogers Public School District called the Genesis Program.
  • The DFRL serves all businesses in NW Arkansas as the primary resource for substance abuse education, training, and referral services.
  • A partnership with the Arkansas Occupational Health Clinic to provide many small businesses with free drug testing, technical assistance to develop Drug Free Workplace Programs, and free training and education for employees.
Partnerships with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Northwest Arkansas Community College, Rogers Parks Department, Rogers Area Parent to Parent Network, Rogers Public Schools, and Prevention Resource Center.
