CAPSULE

MBDA launched its first-ever Pacific Islander venture funding initiative in Hawaii

MBDA Fusion2004 Venture Funding Showcase & Expo

Pacific Business Forums is proud to present "MBDA Fusion2004: Hawaii Venture Funding Showcase" with the goal of facilitating the flow of capital into Minority owned Hawaiienterprises. MBDA Fusion2004 will bring together funding sources from the Private, Non-profit, Federal and State sectors in a central locale. The Showcase will consist of a funding expo, showcase pitches, as well as networking and one-on-ones with investors.  If you're seeking nearly ANY KIND OF BUSINESS FUNDING, DON'T miss this!

MBDA Fusion2004 aims to empower Hawaii/Pacific minority entrepreneurs and emerging businesses and this Showcase will extend the opportunity for greater funding access and help local businesses fine-tune their business plans and funding strategies in an effort to secure the right kind of funding. Veritable experts from
Hawaii and the Mainland will provide free counsel to those companies that desire assistance.

Although a spotlight for a large number of
Hawaii firms, MBDA Fusion2004 leaders will select 10 companies to "showcase" or to publicly present their pitch to over 150 investors/lenders on Tuesday, September 21 at the Hawaii Convention Center on Oahu.

MBDA Fusion2004 consists of THREE components:

Part 1: Registration & Executive Summary Submissions

  Part 2: Workshops/Training & Business Advising

Part 3: Showcase Presentations, Funding Expo & Networking

Companies desiring ONE-ON-ONE, MATCHED, DIRECT ACCESS to FUNDING SOURCES SHOULD
REGISTER BEFORE AUG. 31st!

Participation in MBDA Fusion2004 is open to any (51%) minority owned enterprise in Hawaii/Pacific that is legally structured and in 'good standing'. The Showcase is open to firms at the start-up stage, but is particularly well suited for growth stage companies, small or large, that are post-revenue (i.e. paying customers) and seeking expansion capital.

Companies seeking capital of nearly ANY kind (debt, equity, or combo) can register to participate in the Showcase before Sept. 21, however because free assistance is provided as well as matching services and one-on-one intros to investors, applicants are encouraged to register as soon as possible, no later than Aug. 31. All types of business funding sources will be represented. All participants will have access to a multitude of investors, lenders, and alternative funding sources but PRE-registered participants will be better prepared, better matched, and in a better position to gain investor/lender interest. Of the pre-registered, 10 Presenters will be chosen to "SHOWCASE", their dynamic investor presentations to funding sources and the public.

There are three "waves" of entry fees: Application Fees, "Showcase" Fees (applicable to 10 firms chosen to present), and Attendance Fees (those who simply show up for the Showcase on Sept. 21st.)

  • Firms seeking under $500,000 in capital 1st wave = $75 and 2nd wave (if chosen) = $150
  • Firms seeking over $500,000 in capital 1st wave = $150 and 2nd wave (if chosen) = $300
  • Firms ('walk-ins') to Showcase -- $40 at door
