Duck Nesting in the Northern Great Plains
![map of region](images/nameric.gif)
Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center is host to an extensive inventory and monitoring effort of duck nest success in the northern Great Plains. Information on duck nests are collected annually by Center biologists and State, Federal, Provincial and private cooperators using standardized procedures developed at Northern Prairie.
Northern Prairie furnishes data forms to interested cooperators. Cooperators send completed data forms to Northern Prairie where data are entered, error-checked, summarized and archived.
Center statisticians and biologists periodically analyze the data to provide up-to-date information for assessing status and trends in duck nest success and for use as input in various population models.
