The first day of the workshop began with introductory remarks and a broad overview talk about the opportunities of combined remedies and goals of the workshop. The rest of the day was structured around four general technology areas. Each of four segments began with a presentation by the session chair. A panel of three or four technology experts (practitioners and researchers) then had the opportunity to augment the presentation. Panel comments were followed by a 30 minute period for discussion/general questions from the floor.

Each breakout pairing will have an hour to discuss questions such as:
Overarching Question: What are the greatest opportunities that you see for combining these two technologies in the treatment and management of DNAPL sites?
What type of performance might we expect from these combined technologies?
What site conditions would favor the application of these combined technologies?
What are the most critical research needs for developing these combined technologies?
Are these combined remedy approaches applicable to mixed waste sites?
What are the barriers to implementation of these combined remedies?
What are the limitations (perceived or real) of these combined remedies?
