Remarks: It is believed Carpenter has travelled to San Diego, California, and South Carolina, possibly by bus.

CAUTION

Paul Edmond Carpenter is wanted in connection with the murder and attempted robbery of a German tourist. It is alleged that Carpenter, his girlfriend, and two other friends attempted to rob a group of German tourists in Santa Monica, California, on October 12, 1998. During the robbery, one of the tourists was shot to death. The three accomplices have all been arrested and convicted.

An arrest warrant for Carpenter was issued on February 9, 1999, by the Municipal Court of Santa Monica Judicial District, County of Los Angeles, after he was charged with murder and attempted robbery. A federal arrest warrant was issued on February 12, 1999, by the United States District Court, Central District of California, after Carpenter was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest of Paul Edmond Carpenter.
