- Commercial Vehicle Analysis Reporting System
CVARS is a cooperative effort between NHTSA and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). This project will enter into agreements with State Agencies to train State employees and Motor Carrier Safety officials to develop:
- an improved national data system of all crashes involving commercial motor vehicles containing carrier and driver identifiers, and citation and conviction data for the purposes of carrying out enforcement programs, and:
- a new national analytical data system similar to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) for the purpose of traffic safety problem identification, program evaluation, planning, and other safety related issues.
CVARS is newly established and is currently in a developmental stage. As the project progresses this webpage will updated.
