The Federal Transit Administration is sponsoring five Federal Transit Administration (FTA) /University Transportation Centers (UTC) forums to address transportation issues and potential university research efforts to address these issues. Three forums, designed as facilitated 90-minute consensus-building dialogues, will be held in conjunction with the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Bus and Paratransit Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 6; the Community transportation Association of America (CTAA) Expo in Reno, Nevada, on May 23; and the APTA Rail Conference in Toronto, Ontario, on June 4. Two forums, designed as day-long consensus-building workshops, will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, on May 14; and in Denver, Colorado, on May 16-17. Our goal is to link the transportation and academic communities to facilitate the development of research projects that will address issues of national concern to transportation operators.
