Center for Integrated Earth System Modeling

How will anthropogenic (human) activities that contribute to global climate change evolve over the next several decades? What are the effects of such activities on terrestrial and oceanic carbon cycles? What is the likelihood and nature of abrupt climate changes? How will regional ecosystems be affected? What are the environmental costs and benefits of changing the primary modes of energy production? How will alternative energy sources affect climate change? The mission of Berkeley Lab’s Center for Integrated Earth System Modeling is to develop new Earth system climate models that can answer these and other pressing questions about global climate change.
