The federal government wants to increase pressure on employers not to hire illegal immigrants by preventing firms that have knowingly employed them from being eligible for federal contracts or loans and by limiting reductions of immigration fines.

    Employees choose the investment funds in which they participate as part of their 401(k) plan. However, the funds from which employees are able to choose are selected by the employer. Defined contribution retirement plan sponsors are encouraged to develop and maintain an investment policy statement to ensure prudent selection and monitoring of available funds.
