Resource ManagementNatural resource management issues cannot be separated from human elements such as traditional practices, culture, and economics. The NOAA Pacific Services Center (PSC), therefore, promotes coastal resource management efforts that incorporate both human and environmental factors. Natural resources cross man-made property lines, land-air-water boundaries, and the lines between coastal, nearshore, and ocean environments. PSC encourages resource management that recognizes ecosystem-scale interactions and coordinates the efforts of different agencies to effectively conserve, use, and restore Pacific coastal and ocean natural resources. Objectives
Current Resource Management ProjectsThe following projects, linked to their project plans, are currently under way or planned for implementation in 2006—2007. Final implementation of the project plans is dependent upon availability of funding. Because of their crosscutting nature, some projects are listed under more than one focus area.
