The National Medicare Education Program Partnership Alliance (NMEP) began as an educational effort as a result of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 (BBA). Currently, the NMEP works together with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a key to helping people with Medicare maximize their benefits. NMEP extends the reach and impact of many programs aimed to improve the health and wellness of seniors, people with disabilities, and even their caregivers or employers. The NMEP partnership continues to meet once a quarter – 4 times per year.
