Dear FDA... 
Re Docket # 00N-1396 and docket # 00D- 1598 
  I strongly object to the new rules on genetically engineered (GE) foods. 
 As a homemaker, gardner, mother, and grandmother I feel there has been 
inadequate testing of GE products, both in the effects on nature and on the 
health of the U.S. population. 
 I believe it is ludicrous, naive, and irresponsible to expect companies who 
develop these products for profit only  to police themselves. 
 As a consumer I object to there not being anyway to find out the kind of 
ingredients I am purchasing for my family's consumption. 
 Please, at least impose some sort of moratorium until legitimate testing 
can be done.
