FDA:To Whom it May Concern:

I am very concerned about the possible allergens and other
genetic material that is in genetically engineered foods. As
consumers, we have the right to know whether the food we buy has
genetically engineered components. I ask the the new regulations
follow the guidelines stated
* Require mandatory pre-market safety testing
* Require pre-market environmental review
* Require mandatory labeling of GE foods
* Do not restrict voluntary labeling of non-GE foods
* Require more than a letter of notification prior to the
marketing of a GE food
* Ensure public access to adequate information
for independent review
The current rules for marketing bioengineered food are opposed by
most consumers and favored by the industry. I will continue to
buy organically certified and non-genetically engineered foods,
and will not buy anything that does not state its origin.
