As consumers, we have the right to know whether the food we buy has genetically engineered components. I ask the the new regulations follow the guidelines stated * Require mandatory pre-market safety testing * Require pre-market environmental review * Require mandatory labeling of GE foods * Do not restrict voluntary labeling of non-GE foods * Require more than a letter of notification prior to the marketing of a GE food * Ensure public access to adequate information for independent review The current rules for marketing bioengineered food are opposed by most consumers and favored by the industry. I will continue to buy organically certified and non-genetically engineered foods, and will not buy anything that does not state its origin. N.E.Riley 2339 Seventh St. North St. Petersburg, FL 33704
