Neither the generic, nor dessicated natural hormone, work as consistently or as well as the brand name Synthroid. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer (mixed follicular and papillary) in 1988 at the age of 29, the result of occupational exposure to ionizing radiation. I underwent a total thyroidectomy followed by two (2) radioactive iodine ablations (the cancer came back). After much experimentation with dosages and medication, it was determined that Synthroid is by far the best choice for suppression/replacement in my case. (Due to the ineffectiveness of the other products and allergic reactions to some of the inert ingredients, Synthroid is actually the only real choice). If you take Synthroid off the market, you will doom me to a miserable existence, unable to perform my job, with a much lower quality of life, for both my family and I. If, for this communication to be considered with the gravity that I think it should be, you need more in-depth information, a sworn statement/testimony, or an official petition, please email me at either of the cc addresses, above. Again, PLEASE DO NOT remove Synthroid from the market! Wendi Adams First Sergeant (retired) wars@usmo.com firstsergeant_usa_retired@yahoo.com
