Regional Climate Impact Studies

This component of our work seeks to understand the effects of climate variability and change on human health, ecosystems and air quality. Past work has assessed changes in heat stress in long-term records from both the United States and China, and changes in frequency of air stagnation episodes in the U.S. In collaboration with the Illinois Water Survey and China Meteorological Administration, we are currently developing a regional modeling system for use in assessing impacts of future climate changes on regional climate and air quality.
