International School, Minsk is an independent, coeducational day school which offers an educational program from ages 3 through 18 for students of all nationalities.  The School was founded in 1993.  The school year comprises 3 terms extending from August 30 to December 14, from January 8 to March 21, and from March 31 to June 18.

Organization:  The School is governed by the Board of Directors of Quality Schools International.  An Advisory Board, composed of 6 members living in the Minsk area, assists the School in its operation.  The School operates with the approval of the Belarus government.

Curriculum:  The School offers a performance-based educational program with a curriculum similar to that of U.S. public and private schools.  Instruction, leading to individual mastery, takes advantage of small class sizes and the diverse educational backgrounds of the students.  Instruction is in English.  Russian is taught as a foreign language.  Music, art, woodworking, computer, physical education, and swimming are also offered.  The elementary grades are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Faculty:  In the 2007-2008 school year, there are 7 full-time and 6 part-time faculty members.

Enrollment:  At the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year, enrollment was 28 students (ages 3-16).

Facilities:  The School is located in a wing of a Belarusian public school building, near the city center of Minsk and the U.S. Embassy.  The facility includes 5 classrooms, a library, and a computer laboratory.  A swimming pool is located nearby, and a gymnasium, track and playing field are used for physical education classes.  An auditorium at a local school is also available for presentations and special performances.

Finances:  In the 2007-2008 school year, the School's income derives from regular day school tuition.  Annual tuition rates are as follows: PK: $5,600; Kdg.: $12,800; and grades 1-12: $15,500.  The School also charges an annual capital fund fee of $1,600, and a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $100.  Books are loaned free-of-charge.  These fees are payable in U.S. dollars.  (All fees are quoted in U.S. dollars.)
