MIKAWE

MIKAWE
The MIKAWE dressed for the 4th of July.

Gasoline launch, 75 hp engine, length 64.5 feet, beam 14 feet, draft 5.5 feet. Built in 1916 at Bay City, Michigan. Acquired from Navy in 1920, ex M.B. MIKAWE. This vessel was used as a training vessel in the late 1920’s for Coast and Geodetic Survey deck officers. Destroyed by fire and expended October 27, 1939. In service 1920-1939 on Atlantic coast. Source of name unknown.
