Secretary Chao was joined by U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Anthony
J. Principi at the Department of Labor's “Salute to Veterans and Their
Families” ceremony on November 14.
At the ceremony, Secretary Chao announced
that DOL is adopting the District of Columbia National Guard. Under
this initiative, DOL will recognize the contributions of the unit's service
members, their families, and employers.
The Department will also
look for ways to support the unit and their families when the unit
is deployed.
