I have been Legally Blind since 1975. In all of these years, I have encountered few crosswalks that created a safer environment for me to cross. If you are not visually impaired, please take this simple test.

Close your eyes or blindfold yourself. Proceed to a busy intersection. Cross the street when you think it is safe. Please let me know if your blood pressure elevated or if you palms got sweaty? You may have simply put your faith in the good Lord and hoped that you could make it to the other side. Well, that is the routine that every Blind/Visually Impaired Citizen faces on a daily basis.

Please help us remain safely mobile. We don't want to be shut-ins when we have so much to offer. In order to be productive, we must feel safe as we move about our communities.

Thank you so very much for caring enough to help us!
