USCGC JARVIS (WHEC-725)

JARVIS

ALOHA!

Congratulations on your assignment to the USCGC JARVIS! At the time you received your orders, you should also have received a welcome aboard kit delivered in the mail. This kit contains helpful information about your new assignment. Of all the resources available to you, the most important is your sponsor. Your sponsor is somebody that you should get to know well before you show up at the brow. This person will be able to answer immediate questions you may have about the unit, your move, or the billet you may be filling. Any person on the ship will be more than willing to help you out, you just have to ask.

In addition to your sponsor many personnel (particularly junior personnel) will be assigned a "running-mate". This person will be a mentor of sorts once you report aboard to make your transition a good one. They will walk you through the ship, teach you things about the unit, and most importantly watch you during your first few weeks onboard.

Housing
JARVIS' housing needs are primarily met through the Housing Officer at ISC Honolulu: (808) 842-2071. Single members E4 and below reporting to the ship must first meet specific watch and Basic Damage Control qualifications prior to being placed on the unaccompanied housing list. Contact your sponsor for further information.

Medical
Crewmember medical needs are met through the Tripler Army Medical Center. TriWest is the provider for most of our dependents, their number is 1-888-TRIWEST (874-9378). Information on the TriWest program or Honolulu area sources may be obtained through the medical representative at ISC Honolulu Clinic, or through the TriCare representative at any of the military medical facilities in the area.
