USDA TO PROMOTE EXPORTS AT INTERNATIONAL FOOD SHOW IN GERMANY

WASHINGTON, Sept. 9, 2008—The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service today invited companies to exhibit organic products in the USA Pavilion at BIOFACH 2009 in Nuremburg, Germany, Feb. 19-22, 2009.

Held annually, BIOFACH is a leading organic trade exhibition for the food and beverage industry. BIOFACH 2008 attracted 2,565 exhibitors and approximately 45,500 attendees from 112 countries. Visitors come from a wide spectrum of businesses and include wholesalers, retailers, producers, importers and exporters.

The European region is the United States’ third largest export region for agricultural, fish and forestry products, with U.S. exports totaling more than $11 billion in 2007.

Exhibiting in the USA Pavilion at BIOFACH 2009 will provide U.S. exporters and distributors with an easy, cost-effective way to promote products. Exhibitors also will have an opportunity to learn first-hand about regional market trends.

Products with the best market prospects include any organic food and beverage items.
