The Poultry Programs Process Verified Program (PVP) provides the industry an independent verification service for specific quality management systems. By using the Process Verified Program, exporters, processors and suppliers have a method to assure their customers that their procedures and processes are designed to meet specific standards that are verified by USDA and are consistent on a continual basis. Customers gain confidence in the quality system due to the independent third-party audits that include a review, confirmation, and verification of a company’s documented quality management system. In this process, AMS verifies quality management systems and upon approval, allows companies to market their certification process as “USDA Process Verified”.
To accomplish this, AMS uses internationally recognized standards for quality management systems to evaluate the quality systems. This ensures consistent auditing practices and promotes universal recognition of audit results.
One aspect of the Process Verified Program allows for third-party contractors to provide certification services in specific programs. Only the programs listed below are open to third-party certification contractors for participation in the Process Verified Program. The scope of the program developed by third-party contractors is limited to process verification points that are supported by a documented quality management system.
