The Federal Bureau of Investigation, in fulfilling requirements set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation, is required to report to the Small Business Administration (SBA) the extent of small business participation in the FBI's acquisition programs. This is accomplished by requiring each prospective contractor to advise whether or not it is a small business, small disadvantaged business concern, or a woman-owned small business.

The following is extracted from the Fiscal Year 2001 report submitted to SBA in terms of total dollar value of contracts placed:

  • Small Business $226,241,165.00
    (including minority owned)
  • Small Woman-Owned Business $15,084,107.00
  • 8(a) Program Firms $2,082,597.00
