Data Center
 
Definition

The <Data Center> is the data center, organization, or institution responsible for distributing the data.

  • <Data_Center_Name> consists of the data center <Short_Name> and <Long_Name>, which is the name of the data center that distributes the data.
  • <Data_Center_URL> is the URL of the data center.
  • <Data_Set_ID> is a data set identifier assigned by the data center (may or may not be the same as the <Entry_ID>.
  • <Personnel> Contact information for the data including name, email, phone, FAX, and address information. See the < Personnel> entry for a complete description.

  • Characters may be selected from the UTF-8 character set.
 
Usage
  • The <Data_Center> field is required and can be repeated.
  • <Data_Center_Name> may only be used once per <Data Center>. It consists of the data center <Short_Name> and <Long_Name>. If the <Short_Name> does not appear in the list of controlled data center keywords, a new data center <Short_Name> may be submitted.
  • <Data_Center_URL> is a required subfield.
  • <Data_Set_ID> is an optional subfield and may be repeated within the <Data Center> field as often as necessary.
  • <Personnel> is a required subfield and may be repeated within the <Data Center> field as often as necessary. See the <Personnel> entry for usage.
  • <Role> is required and is not repeatable. The only allowable <Role> within <Data_Center> is "Data Center Contact".
  • <Email>, <Phone> and <FAX> are optional and repeatable. See the <Personnel> entry for usage.
  • <Address> may be repeated as often as necessary. See the <Personnel> entry for usage.
