Chapter 5.4.1 Page 108 Line 19-23 Development of a methodology to weight ensembles of climate model projects. Currently the impact community either selects an individual model’s results or takes the “average” of many models. Since all models are not equal, some probably do a better job with certain parameters. Statistical techniques are available to weight the model results with some information on the parameter of interest and the quality of each model.

Response

True, but this level of detail is inappropriate for the final chapter of SAP 4.5.

Thank you for the extra time to review SAP 4.5. We only have one general
comment: there are many similarities between SAPs 4.5 and 4.7. We would
like to encourage collaboration.

Response:

No changes required in SAP 4.5.  Collaboration actively pursued through CCSP, although the fact that SAP 4.7 is on a time line six months behind SAP 4.5 meant that this collaboration did not add information of value to SAP 4.5.
