New ENERGY STAR Roll-Over Graphic for Web Product Labeling
Use the new certification graphic with roll-over text describing ENERGY STAR to identify all ENERGY STAR qualified products where product features are listed on your Web site for customers. Add the new graphic proximate to ENERGY STAR qualified product images or descriptions.
Download the Roll-Over Graphic using your ENERGY STAR username and password. Contact the ENERGY STAR hotline (hotline@energystar.gov) with any questions about the use of this graphic.
If you would like to use the ENERGY STAR roll-over graphic but your Web site cannot accommodate it, please contact the ENERGY STAR Hotline and a representative will contact you about alternative options.

Standardized Product Specification Language
Use standardized product specification language: “ENERGY STAR qualified” as part of all product criteria.
Partners should include the words “ENERGY STAR qualified” in all descriptions of qualified products provided to retailer/reseller Web sites, e-tailers, and/or shopping comparison sites, to ensure that ENERGY STAR qualified products can be identified as qualified products by consumers on the Internet.

Educational Content for Your ENERGY STAR Web Page
Partners should develop an ENERGY STAR-dedicated page. The page should include the following:
- ENERGY STAR graphics, such as the certification mark;
- Educational content on ENERGY STAR and the benefits to the consumer;
- Clearly labeled ENERGY STAR qualified products; and
- A link back to the ENERGY STAR Web site.
Web content, in accordance with the web linking policy, is required in order for ENERGY STAR to link to a partner Web page.
Example
Make ENERGY STAR a Searchable Feature
For partners that have search engines on their Web sites, EPA and DOE recommend that you make ENERGY STAR a searchable feature. This will address customers’ interest in energy savings by leading them to ENERGY STAR qualified products and information when searching on key words. Suggested key search words include:
- ENERGY STAR
- Energy efficiency
- Energy savings
- Energy conservation
Linking Graphic to ENERGY STAR Educational Content
Once your dedicated ENERGY STAR educational page has been developed, it is recommended that there be a link to that page from all relevant pages including the home page and relevant product-category pages.
Feature the graphic on the left as the link. EPA and DOE recommend “Learn How to Save” since it clearly and succinctly explains the benefits most relevant to your customers. To download this graphic, follow these instructions:
- Click the image to the left that you would like to download.
- Under the file tab choose ‘Save as’ and select the folder you’d like to save the file in.
- Click on “Save.”
If you cannot feature the graphic on your home page, we recommend that you include a link in the navigation by featuring the words “ENERGY STAR Products.”

“Thank You” Graphic
For partners who sell products online, it is recommended that an ENERGY STAR “Thank You” message be shared with customers post purchase. The thank you message recognizes the customer for their contribution to the environment through his/her purchase of an ENERGY STAR qualified product and work to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
To download this graphic, follow these instructions:
