GSA Premiers New USA.gov Ad CampaignOCSC staff launched their newest public service announcement (PSA) campaigns with a premiere at Central Office, complete with popcorn for guests. A twist on The Wizard of Oz, the 60-second ad features the familiar Dorothy and Toto on a quest for information about government benefits and services. The duo ends up visiting the Wizard for answers, who gets his all-knowing powers from USA.gov, the official source of government information on the Web, and from 1 (800) FED INFO, GSA’s National Contact Center. The Spanish language PSA is called Perdido, which means lost. It uses a “balloon man” to illustrate the confusion that many Spanish speakers may experience when trying to get answers about federal benefits and services. Each year, FCIC staff develop two series of television, print and radio PSAs to publicize USA.gov, GobiernoUSA.gov and 1 (800) FED-INFO. This year’s Wizard-inspired ad and Perdido, along with PSAs from prior years, can be found on the FCIC’s website.
