Scholastic Book Fair Safari: The Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) will hold a Scholastic Book Fair Safari Monday, Sept. 15, through Friday, Sept. 19, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the ECDC Library, Room 210. Book Fair Safari is a school fund raiser to promote literacy through book sales and donations from the One for Books campaign. The Lam Collection of Aboriginal Art Exhibit: will be on display from Friday, Sept. 19, through Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Islander Art Gallery, 4024 Weber Road in the Hamlin Center. A lecture and gallery walk will take place from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 19. The exhibit, presented by the Department of Art and University Galleries, features bold and colorful art collected by Dr. Victor and Mrs. May Lam during their travels to Aboriginal communities.
