U.S. Export Controls Seminar and One-on-One Consultations
Tokyo, Japan

I am pleased to announce that the U.S. Embassy's Commercial Service will hold a "U.S. Export Controls Seminar" on June 23rd, in Tokyo. The importance of security export controls has been increasing in these days. Four experts from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), formerly BXA, will explain U.S. Administration Regulations (EAR). It has been four years since the last U.S. export controls seminar was held in Tokyo. This will be the first seminar in Asia since October 2000.

This seminar will be beneficial for companies that use U.S.-origin parts and components for manufacturing and assemble, companies that use U.S.-origin systems, software, or technology to develop foreign-made products, and companies that reexport those products, software and U.S.-origin items. Companies that are not aware of the U.S. Export Administration Regulations can also use this opportunity to better understand U.S. export controls.

I hope you can attend what I am sure will be a very informative seminar.

Best regards,
Samuel Kidder
Minister-Counselor for Commercial Affairs
Embassy of the United States of America
