Description Membership has ended in December because the original goals had been achieved and MMS interest in the new FABIG research trend declined significantly.

The original MMS objectives were:

  1. Provide a center of information relating to loading, response and protection of offshore structures,
  2. Interim Guidance Notes for Design and Protection of Topside Structures Against Explosion and Fire,
  3. Giving Group members technical notes on examples based on the technical notes,
  4. Review and Research data and inform the Group members on the latest state of the art by newsletter, and
  5. Arrange meetings/workshops deemed beneficial to assist in the exchange of information and ideas.
Progress The following technical meetings had taken place in the past:
  • June 9/10, June 16/17 and June 23/24, 2004 on Fire Loading and Simultaneous design against fires and explosions,
     
  • October 6/7 and October 13/14, 2004 on Fire and Explosion Issues of LNG plants.

All incoming correspondence had been distributed to the Regional Offices. Project is closed.
