Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders and Diabetes

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders with diabetes are at high risk for heart disease. It is also important to know that heart attacks and strokes are the leading killers of people with diabetes. You can reduce that risk by managing your blood glucose (sugar), blood pressure, and cholesterol.

The Association supports the National Diabetes Education Program's campaign "Take Care of Your Heart." This program helps Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders with diabetes and their families understand the need to prevent complications and to manage all aspects of their diabetes.  All versions of this campaign are available as PDFs.
