The product was manufactured and distributed from January 11, 2005 through March 28, 2007.

Use:

The mobile oxygen storage tank is used both in military aircraft for treating the wounded and in disaster areas to quickly supply oxygen to patients.

Reason for Recall:

The mobile oxygen storage tank’s pressure gauge may rupture and the device may catch fire as a result of hydraulic fluid present in the pressure gauge tubing.

FDA Comment:

The company mailed a recall letter to the U.S. Defense Supply Center on July 24, 2008. The letter instructed the Center to keep the affected units in quarantine. The U.S. Air Force is currently shipping the units back to the firm for repair.

Healthcare professionals and patients may report any problems with the use of this product to the FDA's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program either online, by regular mail or by FAX.
