Under Secretary Mancuso Discusses Global Maritime and Transportation Security in Keynote Address

Under Secretary Mancuso addressed the 1st Annual Global Maritime Information Sharing Symposium (GMISS), on August 19, 2008. The symposium was sponsored by the United States Navy Fleet Forces Command and the Department of Justice, and hosted at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at King's Point, New York. Under Secretary Mancuso focused his remarks on the importance of maritime, transportation, and logistics security in an era of globalization and differentiated national security threats. Among other things, Under Secretary Mancuso stressed the importance of private and public sector cooperation to ensure America's safe, efficient, and successful partiicpation in the global economy.
