Description This was a Joint Industry Project (JIP). The objectives are (1) a comprehensive design and application manual for present day strengthening/repair techniques for diver- assisted operations, and (2) a series of detailed feasibility and evaluation studies for the application of strengthening/repair measures to deepwater locations using ROV's. A detailed appraisal of all intervention techniques was included. This information was used to define a number of different techniques available to ensure the safety of a strengthening or repair system, and will allow MMS to assess submitted for technical sufficiency, structural integrity, and safety. This study produced an assessment and design manual on strengthening or repair techniques for shallow and deepwater platforms. These schemes were evaluated as to their applicability to deepwater platforms.
