JULY 29, 2005 TRAINING AVAILABLE TO HELP SMALL BUSINESSES, WOMEN-OWNED AND MINORITY-OWNED FIRMS IN LOS ANGELES AREA INCREASE FOREIGN SALES Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce To Host Symposium WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with City National Bank, the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank), the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Small Business Administration will host an exporter symposium August 4, 2005 in Los Angeles, Calif. The training is designed for small businesses and women-owned and minority-owned companies in Los Angeles and surrounding areas that wish to learn how to "find and finance" foreign buyers and increase their sales. The seminar will focus on challenges specific to these businesses Attendees will learn how to find international buyers, access valuable trade information, obtain working capital loans, protect against the risk of nonpayment, and offer buyer financing with the U.S. government's assistance.
Ex-Im Bank, the official export credit agency of the United States, is in its 71st year of helping finance the sale of U.S. exports, primarily to emerging markets throughout the world, by providing loan guarantees, export credit insurance and direct loans.
