In 1999, members of the occupational safety
and health community met in St. Louis, Missouri to “put together the
pieces” of a picture of health and safety training, including current
practices and future needs. Occupational safety and health training in the
next decade will take place against a backdrop of rapidly changing workforces
and workplaces. These changes create new issues and opportunities for trainers,
and these issues and opportunities comprise some of the important pieces
discussed in this conference.
