JUNE 17, 2004 GEORGIA AND SOUTHEASTERN COMPANIES CAN LEARN TO EXPAND EXPORT SALES AT JUNE 23 EX-IM BANK-SPONSORED SYMPOSIUM IN ATLANTA Georgia companies ranging from the engineering and architectural firm Armentrout Roebuck Matheny Consulting Group in Athens, Ga., to the West Point Foundry and Machine Company in West Point, Ga., have expanded their businesses by selling goods and services overseas with the financial support of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank). Other businesses in Greater Atlanta and surrounding areas can learn how to increase export sales and jobs while minimizing risk at an Exporter Symposium on June 23 in Atlanta, Georgia, hosted by Ex-Im Bank, Regions Bank, the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. The half-day symposium is designed to help businesses of all sizes find foreign buyers, tap into valuable trade information, obtain working capital loans, protect against the risk of nonpayment, and offer buyer financing with U.S. government assistance. Ex-Im Bank, the official export credit agency of the United States, is in its 70th year of helping finance the sale of U.S. exports, primarily to emerging markets throughout the world, by providing loan guarantees, export credit insurance and direct loans. In fiscal year 2003, Ex-Im Bank authorized financing to support $14.3 billion of U.S. exports worldwide. For more information, visit www.exim.gov. |
