Meeting

The U.S. Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute's (JGI) first annual User Meeting was an international gathering of researchers with an interest in sequence-based science. It offered two and a half days of state-of-the-art scientific presentations with an emphasis on JGI users, plus tours, informatics tutorials, and poster sessions. Sessions and posters in the fields of microbial genomics, microbial communities, basal-eukaryote genomics, and large-eukaryote genomics were presented, as was the newest version of the Integrated Microbial Genomes (IMG) data analysis system. A workshop on low-dose radiation research preceded the meeting.
