Investing in Turkey

The EBRD plans to invest up to US$ 600 million in Turkey by 2010. Investments will contribute to the development of Turkey's private sector and reach out to areas away from the large metropolitan centres.

EBRD calls for support to eastern Europe as credit squeeze tightens

In a letter to shareholders, EBRD President Thomas Mirow encourages countries with financial strength to support their weaker neighbours. All countries, and especially those in Europe, have benefited from the growing economic strength of central and eastern Europe and will suffer if the region’s economic stability is jeopardised.

Accord between Hungary and IMF

The EBRD welcomes the IMF financing package that will support the Hungarian economy to weather the current turbulent conditions in the international financial markets. Under the current market conditions the EBRD is committed to working with all relevant parties to continue supporting a sound Hungarian financial sector.

€180 million for main motorway in Bosnia-Herzegovina

The EBRD is investing in the largest infrastructure project in Bosnia-Herzegovina to date by lending €180 million to the state of BiH to construct key sections of the Trans-European Corridor Vc.
