FSI's Transition Center 2008 Clips to Go Contest

The 2007-8 Clips to Go Contest was a wonderful way to celebrate OBC's 30th Anniversary!

OBC has been delivering post research, including audiovisuals for the past 30 years. As part of that celebration, we asked those at post to supply us with 30 seconds or 3 minutes and 30 seconds worth of short video about life at a U.S. mission. Entrants chose a variety of subjects ranging from one cultural issue, a brief overview of several aspects, and some very surprising creative efforts.

The 2007-8 Clips to Go winners were:

Carlos Gallardo, from the U.S. Consulate General in Amsterdam. Mr. Gallardo's entry provided a personal overview of life in one of the busiest offices in the world. The information-packed clip was well produced and included a glimpse of daily work at the consulate as well as housing options and cultural notes. His winning entry may be viewed at:

The second winner was David H. Kornhauser, formerly of the U.S. Embassy in Vienna. He chose to spotlight one aspect of Viennese culture - krapfen - through the eyes of his daughter. The entry delighted judges. Adults and children in the entire Foreign Service community will enjoy watching and learning about krapfen in Vienna. His winning entry may be viewed at:

Additional Clips to Go entrants included the following individuals. All video entries will be added to the newly formed Clips to Go collection, a new category of audio-visuals at the OBC.
