Dr. Ohlemiller is project leader on studies of mattress flammability, polymer composite flammability and electronic equipmnet flammability. Before joining NIST, Dr. Ohlemiller spent nine years on the Research Staff of the Aerospace and Mechanical Sciences Department at Princeton University. His work there involved basic studies of the combustion of solid fuels and solid rocket propellants. Dr. Ohlemiller has published several dozen reports and papers concerned with a wide variety of aspects of the combustion of solid fuels. He has specialized particularly in studies of smoldering combustion and fire growth on real products. Dr. Ohlemiller is a member of Sigma Xi, The Combustion Institute and the International Association of Fire Safety Sciences. He received the Department of Commerce Bronze Medal Award in 1986 for his work in smoldering combustion. |
