WELCOME TO "TEAM KODIAK" HOME OF ROCK SOLID SUPPORT

ROCK SOLID SUPPORT INTEGRATED SUPPORT COMMAND KODIAK

COMMANDING OFFICER

Welcome to the Great Land and Kodiak Island! ISC Kodiak is your host and we are pleased to provide a wide range of support services. All of us at the ISC value you and your family as both customers and neighbors. Regardless of the unit you're joining in South Central Alaska, you can expect to receive Rock-Solid support from the entire ISC staff.

Welcome to Team Kodiak! I'm glad that you're investigating the CG community on Kodiak. Kodiak Island is the home of the Coast Guard's largest operational base and a GREAT place to live and work. Team Kodiak, as we like to call ourselves, is the family of units and detachments that live and work on the island. A diverse group of active duty, reserve, civilian, and contractor employees serving at Integrated Support Command Kodiak serve as your host and we are pleased to provide a wide range of support services. All of us value you and your family as our customers and look forward to providing you with Rock-Solid support.

Whether this is your first tour on Kodiak, or you are a sourdough returning to the "Emerald Isle", this CG Central site is intended to help you better understand your new home. The Coast Guard on Kodiak is able to provide a comprehensive suite of great services and opportunities. Living on the "Rock" also provides some unique challenges due to our environment and remote location. Most of us find our time in Kodiak to be enriching, family-friendly and professionally profitable. No matter what you do, you will be much better at it when you move on to other career opportunities.

Kodiak is a place where folklore abounds, so you may have heard some interesting Kodiak stories; some good, some bad, some even scary. The bottom line is that Kodiak has one of the highest reenlistment, extension, and PCS return rates in the service! Why? It's certainly not the weather or the lack of shopping opportunities. I believe the very challenges inherent to living on Kodiak bring out the very best in all of us. In Kodiak you will find that people care and willingly reach out to their neighbors, while the community respects our commitment to enriching where we live and honors the missions we perform. If you come to Kodiak with great expectations, you will not be disappointed!

Again, welcome to Kodiak. May your tour here be safe, happy and productive.
