ERA Pilot Agencies
NARA and the ERA Program Management Office (PMO) has worked closely with records management staff and officials from four Federal agencies to participate in various system development, testing, and training activities during the ERA System's pilot development and implementation. The four ERA pilot agencies are:
- The Department of Commerce's U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
(USPTO) - The Department of the Navy's National Oceanographic Office
(NAVO)
- The Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration
(NNSA/Kansas City Plant)
- The Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics
(BLS)
The four agencies were chosen to participate in pilot activities based on specific criteria, most importantly if they already had scheduled electronic records and proposed records schedules. The input NARA receives from these agencies has been and will continue to be invaluable for building a system that meets the needs of NARA's customers.
The ERA PMO holds monthly teleconferences with the four agencies to share information and updates about the ERA system development. Meetings have been suspended during the ERA system training period and will begin in the Fall of 2008.
