Auditory-Oral School of New York Rings Closing Bell at NASDAQ
Students from the Auditory-Oral School of New York in Brooklyn, N.Y., rang the closing bell at the NASDAQ stock exchange on Friday, October 31. The school was commended for its “outstanding commitment and service in support of hearing impaired children, and providing opportunities for tomorrow’s leaders and entrepreneurs.” To see the video, click here and then click on the “video clip” link next to the listing for the Auditory-Oral School of New York. Congresswoman Berkely Pledges to Fight for Hearing Aid Tax Credit
On Saturday, August 16, a capacity crowd of 120 Las Vegas residents gathered to thank Congresswoman Shelley Berkley (D-NV) for her co-sponsorship of the federal Hearing Aid Tax Credit (HR 2329) and to urge her to champion the bill in the House of Representatives. Rep. Berkley is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee that determines the fate of tax legislation, and she pledged to fight for passage of the tax credit to help offset some of the cost of hearing aids for dependents under 18 and people over 55 years old.
Plano Regional Day School Featured in West Plano People Newspaper
"Parents whose children use the Plano Regional Day School Program for the Deaf already loved it, but they also liked hearing last month that it was recognized by the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing."

Colorado Kids Advocate for Hearing Aid Coverage
On Monday, January 21, AG Bell Member Austin Galoob was featured on Denver’s Channel 9 stumping for support by Colorado lawmakers for State Senate Bill 57 which mandates insurance companies to cover the cost of hearing aids. Click here to view the segment.
AG Bell Member Speaks Out About Access
AG Bell Member and Director of the Hearing Access Program Janice Schacter and her daughter, Arielle, have been making lots of noise to promote access to public entertainment venues for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Recently, they appeared on NY1’s “Inside City Hall” to talk about improving access to New York City’s entertainment and cultural venues for those with hearing loss.
