National Transportation Statistics (NTS)

This report presents basic information on America's transportation system. Statistics are included on the physical network; travel and goods movement; vehicle, aircraft, and vessel inventories; the condition and performance of the system; and the relationship between transportation and the economy. Data are also provided on consumer and government expenditures on transportation and employment in and productivity of the transportation industries. Information on transportation fatalities, injuries, and accidents for each mode and for hazardous materials are also shown. In addition, data on transportation energy use and transportation-related environmental impacts are included.

The National Transportation Statistics (NTS) is a companion volume to the Transportation Statistics Annual Report, which is a comprehensive analysis of the data presented in NTS. This year's report includes a brief discussion of the quality of the data presented in many of the tables.
