Israel, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka Join Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism

The Governments of Israel, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka have announced their decisions to become partner nations of the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism (Global Initiative).

At the most recent meeting of the Global Initiative in Ankara, Turkey, on February 12-13, 2007, partner nations emphasized the importance of increasing partnership and participation by nations committed to combating nuclear terrorism.

Partner nations will meet again in Kazakhstan in June 2007 to review the progress of Global Initiative activities, to address gaps in implementation, and to welcome new members.
