Briefly

Gary Lucier joined ERS in 1980 as a farm finance analyst responsible for developing and carrying out USDA's farm income and finance forecasting program, including model development, monthly and long-term outlook, and policy impact analysis. In 1987, he became team leader for vegetable analysis in the Specialty Crops Branch, Market and Trade Economics Division. Since 1990, Gary has been the primary contact in USDA for vegetable and melon market analysis. He is coordinator of Vegetables and Melons Outlook (formerly the Vegetables and Specialties Situation and Outlook Report).
